Browse real profiles of women from across India who have been shortlisted by Skillinabox trainers. Every profile shows her city, age, chosen skill, and a few words from her about why she wants to learn. You'll find her story before you find her goal amount.
Each learner is verified through our 8-gate process before her profile ever goes live. You are not donating blindly — you are choosing a specific woman whose story resonates with you.
Choose how much you want to contribute — you can fully fund her course or join a group of funders who together cover the cost. Every rupee goes directly to Skillinabox as course fees. Nothing is deducted for platform costs.
Payments are processed via Razorpay. You receive a tax-deductible receipt immediately. If a campaign does not reach its goal within the deadline, your contribution is fully refunded — no questions asked.
Once enrolled, your learner posts milestone updates — photos of work completed, skills mastered, and progress made. You receive notifications as she moves through her course. Some learners write personal messages to their funders.
You're not a one-time donor. You become part of her story. When she completes her course and launches her income, you'll know. Many funders stay in touch long after the campaign closes.
Before a woman's profile goes live on GiftASkill, she passes eight eligibility checks administered by our trainers on the ground. This is not bureaucracy — it is our promise to funders that every contribution reaches someone who genuinely needs it and is committed to completing their training.
A learner who passes all eight gates has a 94% course completion rate — compared to 61% in standard social skilling programmes.
Most Skillinabox courses run for 3 to 6 months depending on the skill. Tailoring and Electronics Repair are typically 5–6 months. Beauty & Wellness and Food Processing are 3–4 months. Each learner's campaign page shows the expected course duration clearly.
Yes. GiftASkill uses an all-or-nothing funding model for full-fund campaigns. If a learner's campaign doesn't reach its target by the deadline, every rupee is refunded to all funders via Razorpay. For group-fund campaigns, partial contributions are held in escrow and released only when the goal is met.
Absolutely. Most campaigns support group funding — you can contribute as little as ₹500. Your contribution joins others until the total course fee is covered. You'll still receive all the same milestone updates and be credited as a funder on her profile page.
If a learner withdraws in the first two weeks, the unused portion of her fee is returned to funders proportionally. After two weeks, fees are non-refundable as the trainer and kit costs are already committed. In all cases, Skillinabox sends funders a transparent explanation within 48 hours of any dropout.
You can send a one-way encouraging message via the platform, which is delivered to the learner through her trainer. Direct two-way chat is not enabled to protect the learner's privacy and to avoid placing pressure or burden on her. Many learners choose to reply with a milestone update.
Trainer codes are assigned exclusively to certified Skillinabox field trainers. If you know a woman who should be on the platform, ask her to connect with a trainer in her city via our Apply page, or email us at referrals@skillinabox.com. We do not accept self-referrals.
